Stuffed Pita Bread sandwich



This is an Arabic dish found in most Lebanese, Egyptian, and Syrian restaurants.This grilled sandwich is equivalent of a burger, and is usually served with humus or green salad.
Ingredients:

  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 chopped tomato
  •  2 tablespoons chopped green coriander
  • 1/2 kilo minced beef, turkey or chicken
  •  Olive oil
  •  Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 3 Pita bread

Methods:
1 Mix all the ingredients together, except the bread, in a bowl.
2 Open the bread from one side and fill it with the mixture above.
Make sure the filling is not thick and is spread evenly.
3 Close the bread and pour 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil over the bread, to give
it a special grill taste.
4 Wrap it in aluminum foil – make sure it’s well sealed -
and put it in a preheated oven 350F/180C/Gas mark 4, for 45
minutes to an hour.
5 Cut the bread into quarters & serve with salad.
